The course Planning Public Transport Services will provide the ultimate guide to public transport planning, operations and policy. The objective of the course is to combine traditional operations and new approaches to service planning and finding solutions to difficult and persistent public transport problems.
Course topics include strategic planning, network design, economic appraisal methods, performance evaluation, market forecasting and priority measures. Special attention is given to service reliability, improving the transfer experience and new emerging on-demand services. This course covers public transport planning topics identified as priorities for learning by participants in previous courses. They are designed to be relevant to all conventional public transport modes including bus, tram and rail.
